Simsbury Trojans Youth Football

Simsbury Youth Football - Trojans, is affiliated with American Youth Football, an international youth football organization established to promote the wholesome development of youth  through their association with adult leaders in the sport of American football.  Rules and regulation are established to ensure that players play in an atmosphere of safety with competitive balance between teams.  The NFL recognizes this firm commitment and AYF has been made a national youth partner of the National Football League.

The Simsbury youth Trojans play in the Mid Connecticut Youth Football and Cheer Conference.  This conference is made up of teams that mirror those teams played by the Simsbury High School Trojans.  This is the highest quality youth football competition in the area.

The Trojan Youth teams play other teams from New Britain, Middletown, Southington, Bristol, Meridan, East Hartford, Hartford, Wallingford, Waterbury and other powerhouse football programs in the middle area of Connecticut.  These are the teams that the players will eventually face as high school players.  Year in and year out, this is the best youth football competition to be found in the area. 

Our Philosophy

We believe participating in our football or cheer programs will help to instill children with life-long values of teamwork, dedication, and superior work ethic both in the classroom and on the playing field.  Our programs have no tryouts or cutting of rosters.  Everyone participates  under mandatory minimum play rules.   Our number one goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable and memorable football and cheerleading experience for all particpating children.

Our History

The Trojans were initially formed as the Simsbury/Avon Chiefs almost 30 years ago within the Pop Warner league.  In 1996, the Trojans affiliated with the American Youth Football league. 

Simsbury Youth Football welcomes all eligible participants from Simsbury and the surrounding communities willing to play, cheer and/or coach. 

As noted above, our number one goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable and memorable football and cheerleading experience for all participating children. In addition, we provide a level of coaching that we believe is second to none in the greater Simsbury area. Many of our coaches also coach or have coached college and high school teams. As a result, they know how to teach players how to play the game, and be competitive in youth sports, while preparing them to play at the high school level.
